About Xtreme Brewing.com
To know what XtremeBrewing.com is about, you must understand the people behind the name. Anyone can make a web site, but can we really stand behind a name like XtremeBrewing.com. We think we can.
XtremeBrewing.com was created as a spin off from Delmarva Brewing Craft, a small homebrew shop in Millsboro, DE, owned and operated by Doug and Patti Griffith. The conceptual idea was presented in a form of book called “Extreme Brewing” written by Dogfish Head Founder, Sam Calagione. Sam and Doug’s friendship go way back to when people thought that Dogfish was a shark. There may still be a Dogfish shark, but Dogfish beer is growing in popularity. So, Sam wrote the book called “Extreme Brewing” which Doug was called upon to assist in by making sure that the ingredients used in the book were available in the proportions listed. Doug saw an opportunity to take Delmarva Brewing Craft to the next level. He was witnessing an evolution where more and more people’s taste buds were requiring more satisfaction and a broader diversity in taste. Sam gave Doug the “thumbs up” to assemble all of the recipes into kits and sell them. Since “Extreme Brewing” was being released worldwide, Doug decided to go from a local homebrew shop to the World Wide Web.
Since then, he and Patti have attracted a rag tag group of misfits that have enhanced the meaning of Xtreme Brewing. On a weekly basis, Joe, Joey, Carl, Jerry and others come together with one thing on their mind. BEER! All recipes are brewed, tested, and tasted by our team. Only with unanimous approval from this “Board of Drinkers” do we give a recipe our seal of approval.
